Turfing & lawns
A new lawn starts with the ground: old grass and weeds out, the soil levelled and firmed, then fresh turf laid tight with staggered joints.
We usually lay the lawn with the patio or paths, so the edge between them is set once and stays straight.
New turf needs watering every day in dry weather for the first two weeks; we leave you simple instructions.
Recent lawn work includes paving with a natural lawn in Watford and a new lawn with paving in Ruislip.

Questions about turfing & lawns
When is the best time to lay turf?
Spring and autumn are easiest, but turf can be laid most of the year if it is watered in dry weather.
Should I choose real or artificial grass?
Real grass is cheaper to lay and cooler underfoot; artificial needs no mowing. We can quote both.
